Who We Are
The Great Lakes Ice Association is a regional trade organization for ice manufacturers, distributors & suppliers with in the ice industry.
We were founded in 1966 & is an outgrowth of various states/provinces with the contiguous boundaries of the 5 great lakes. Those states/provinces in the great lakes have similar weather patterns proving a common denominator of interest with regards to marketing & procedural techniques.
Our Purpose
Foster the development of the manufacturing & the distribution of ice.
Promote the sharing & exchange of practical knowledge among members.
Create a standard of excellence for quality in the production & distribution of packaged ice products.
Arrange advertising to the general public for our member’s products.
Act as a tool for collecting data & disseminating information of a promotional or technical nature through bulletins.
Exert a positive impact on product quality to ensure compliance with association standards
Establish effective collaboration with related industries, goverment entities & their agencies in relation to the packaged ice industry.
